Gator Mike is a military officer currently deployed as a director in the Department of Army Standard and Evaluation; Army Headquarters Abuja. He is a Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police.

Brigadier General John-Okon is a member of several golf clubs including Zaria Golf Club, Ibom GC, IBBGCC, TYBIGCC and IE Ibas GC. He is also a member of several bodies including Nigerian Institute of Industrial Security, Nigerian Institute of Management, Institute of Professional Managers and Administration of Nigeria as well as Computer Forensic Institute of Nigeria.

He has a Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy, Masters of Disaster Risk Management and Master of Philosophy. He is currently on his PhD program on security and strategic studies.
Mike is a golfer and an ardent traveler who enjoy social activities and having quality company. His fairway shots are occasional straight and long.
